Why a Guided Hunt Is Worth It

A guided moose hunt is an investment — in success, safety, and the quality of your experience. Here's why hunters choose guided over DIY.

💰

Guided Hunt Value

A fully outfitted 6-day guided hunt with one-on-one guide service, meals, and accommodations. Compare to western big game hunts that often run $5,000-15,000+ for similar service levels.

🎯

Higher Success Rate

Guided hunters consistently outperform DIY hunters. Our experience, scouting, and calling skills put you on moose that you'd likely never find on your own.

🏕️

No Equipment Investment

No need to buy wall tents, cooking gear, or camp equipment. We provide the entire camp infrastructure. You bring your personal gear and rifle.

📋

Hassle-Free Planning

We handle scouting, camp setup, meals, and logistics. You focus on the hunt. For many hunters, the time saved and stress avoided is worth the investment alone.

Cost & Pricing FAQs

What is the total cost of a guided Maine moose hunt?

Our guided hunt is priced at $7,000 (2025 rate) for the 6-day hunt including hunter plus sub-permittee. Additional costs include the moose hunting license ($585), lottery application ($15), and transportation to camp. Please contact us for current season pricing as rates may change.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a deposit to secure your hunt dates. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be discussed when you book. The balance is typically due before the hunt begins.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms are discussed at booking. Because we take a limited number of hunters and our seasons are short, deposits are generally non-refundable unless we can fill your spot. We recommend trip insurance for unexpected situations.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We are transparent about what is and isn't included. The main costs beyond our hunt fee are your license, lottery application, transportation to camp, and any meat processing or taxidermy you choose. We'll walk through all costs when you book.

Can non-residents hunt moose in Maine?

Yes. Non-residents can apply for the Maine moose lottery and hunt with us. The moose hunting license costs the same for residents and non-residents ($585). Non-resident lottery odds are lower than resident odds, but lodge tag hunts offer an alternative.
