Do I need to win the Maine moose lottery to hunt with you?
Yes, for our standard guided hunts you need a Maine moose hunting permit, which is awarded through the state lottery system. Applications are typically due in May. We also offer lodge tag hunts (allocated to outfitters) — contact us about availability.
What Wildlife Management Districts do you hunt?
We hunt WMDs 1 through 11 in northern Maine. These districts have the highest moose densities and offer diverse terrain from big woods to regenerating clear-cuts that moose favor for feeding.
What is the success rate on your hunts?
In 2025, our 13 moose hunters harvested 9 bulls and 1 cow. We take pride in consistently putting our hunters on moose. While no hunt is guaranteed, our experience and preparation give you the best possible chance.
How physically demanding is a Maine moose hunt?
Our hunts are conducted from drive-to camps, not backcountry pack-in trips. You should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain and able to handle moderate physical activity. We can adapt to varying fitness levels — just discuss your situation with us when booking.
What weapon can I use for moose hunting in Maine?
Maine allows modern firearms (rifles, shotguns with slugs), muzzleloaders, and archery equipment for moose hunting. Most hunters use a scoped rifle in .30-06, .308, .300 Win Mag, or similar calibers. We can discuss your setup when you book.
